omg my hand ached so much after finishing this.it took days just to colour. anyway most retro mario fans will reconise this character, but for those who dont, this is Geno from the game super mario rpg on the super nintendo.hes a doll possessed buy a star and helped mario rescue peach along with bowser and mallow. he states in the game that his real name is ♥♪!? but its impossible to pronounce so they call him geno named after the doll. he is also the strongest playable character in the game and can do up 9999 damage to enemies.
Geno was also actually in smash bros brawl as he was on the top of the list for requested characters ,but square enix didnt like nintendo using him and demanded he be cut out of the game or they will be sued.this is what caused one of the delays in its release as they had to remove all his data. apparently the scripts of geno are still in the game when hacked and his music was done. however he was never finished so no one can play as him.his space in the game was replaced by the random button in the character select screen.
OMGOSH I never played mario rpg lol your old school how old are you? haha I never knew about this character and i thought I was the mario bros master XD
lol im only 16 but since my older brother has all the old consoles like Atari, master system, mega drive and super Nintendo i seem to know alot about old games, and i first played games when i was 4 XD a lot of people didn't know about him,but surprisingly hes only been in one game eleven years ago(not including his cameo in mario and luigi super star saga),and he still has his own huge fanbase and hes really popular.
I'm 25; I played SMRPG when it first came out in 1996. I was 12/going on 13 at the time. It's one of my all-time favorite games.
Is it wrong for me to say that despite it already been over a year since Brawl came out, I'm still ticked that Geno was cut out? I tried playing Brawl, but something about that game just seemed missing. :/
I still long for the day that they decide to bring Geno back as an original character in a new game, but until then . . . At least we have SMRPG, right?
I really like your style of drawing Geno; judging by the background I'm guessing that he's either fighting against Exor or maybe even an enemy found over at Star Hill?
You thought Brawl lacked something too? Even though I haven't played SMRPG, ever, I still like Geno X3 [link] Geno was the random button. Shame... Sucks he's not in any other game.
Just look at Brawl's storyline; I'm convinced that it originally involved him somehow. One of these days I would love to rewrite the Brawl storyline with Geno in it, but that's going to be a huge project that I'll need lots of time for. Maybe when the semester ends next month . . .
Random button in Brawl? Oh please; I'm convinced that it was where Geno was.
You need to play SMRPG; it's my favorite Mario game and one of my all time favorite video games, if not my all-time fave. The storyline alone is amazing . . . *___*
Geno did make a brief cameo in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, but he wasn't playable or anything; all he did was explain the rules to a mini-game.
